A recent study published in the journal Pediatrics has found that tympanostomy tubes, commonly known as ear tubes, offer little relief for young children suffering from ear infections. The study, conducted at two large pediatric academic healthcare systems, found that three-quarters of children who received ear tubes did not experience any improvement in their symptoms.
